Gert

I just did put DictionaryForMIDs 3.5.8 here:

'Empty' version:
http://www.kugihan.de/dict/download/test_versions/3.5.8/DictionaryForMIDs_3.5.8_empty.zip

A version for testing with the Spanish-English-Tagalog dictionary:
http://www.kugihan.de/dict/download/test_versions/3.5.8/DictionaryForMIDs_EngTagSpa_CAL.jar

Updates are:

  • If incremental search is enabled, then after a "change translation direction" the translation is automatically executed
  • Coloured display is disabled by default, cause some devices seem to have problems with StringColourItems (see other posts on this topic here in the forum). [remark: users can enable the coloured display in the Settings dialogue]

Please test that version. If no new problems show up, then 3.5.8 can be used as the new version for building dictionaries.

Gert

Well done Gert thumb up for wonderful job you are doing, can i create it for commercial purpose.

Quotecan i create it for commercial purpose.

Concerning copyrights, see http://dictionarymid.sourceforge.net/copyright.html.

Let me explain a few words: the DictionaryForMIDs application (the program) is copyrighted by the GPL. Please take care to fully comply with the GPL when you distibute the DictionaryForMIDs application. The GPL allows commercial distribution, but please read the GPL thoroughly to be sure that you fully comply with the GPL. For example you must clearly state that the software is Open Source and that it is distributed under the GPL. This must be very clear to all recipients of the DictionaryForMIDs application (i.e. so that the recipient realizes that he was stupid when he payed for it ;) ) . Also note that each modified version of the DictionaryForMIDs application must be distributed under the GPL.

For the dictionary that is included in the DictionaryForMIDs application, the copyright may be different. The copyright is specific to each dictionary, you need to check specifically for each dictionary. In any case, please shy away from selling any free dictionary that was set up by a volunteer, that would be a shame.

There are two ways for using DictionaryForMIDs commercially:

  • Setting up a commercial dictionary and selling it with DictionaryForMIDs
  • A commercial organization that uses the DictionaryForMIDs application with its existing free dictionaries (no dictionaries are sold in that case, nobody earns any money from sale if DictionaryForMIDs)

Just ask further on this topic if I can help there any further. I appreciate any questions on this topic.

Regards,
Gert

Just had time to test this with the Eng-Ger dictionary. Works great, thanks for implementing it :).
