Title: Memory problem running DictionaryforMids on mobile
Post by: npw14 on 13. May 2008, 16:12:50
Hi,

I have installed DictionaryForMids (english-spanish) library on my Sony Ericsson E700i phone. When i run the software i get a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError / null message. Is there any way of fixing this (i.e delete other apps on my phone) or do i not have enough runnable memory in my phone ?
Any help gratefully received.

Paul

On some SonyEricsson models there used to be an OutOfMemoryError in older versions of DictionaryForMIDs, even though enough memory was there. There was a workaround implemented in DictionaryForMIDs for this SonyEricsson problem, but it seems that this may not work on your phone !

Ah, I just checked the version of the English-Spanish dictionaries: those are very old versions where the SonyEricsson workaround was not yet implemented !

I have disabled "Colors" in setting in some Sony Ericsson phones to have my dict working.... I'm using version 3.3 of the dictionary... I hope it helps...
