Hi all, I just updated firmware for my K800 and Z610 that have new Java Engine but dict 3.03 still have problem.  It won't show the result of translation (just show blanks).  Version 2.x work just fine.
I have written about it few months ago but it seems that the forum is deleted and I need to register again.  Any idea whether it will be fixed in 3.1?  Thanks!

Gert

Thanks for your info !

There is the current status on this topic here: http://dictionarymid.gottfried-signs.ch/index.php?topic=12.0.

Actually for me it is new that version 3.0.3 also had a problem on SonyEricsson phones, so this is a useful information.

Well, hope this still can be fixed for 3.1. Seems to be hard to fix.

Gert

P.S.: We switched to the new forum, but the old forum is still there so that people can look at the old postings.

Well, what happen to old forum and how to access it?  I have reported this problem in the old forum.  Actually ver 2.4.3 (English English Webster)and 2.7.0 (English Chinese) works perfectly in my K800 and Z610.  I first found problem with 3.03 when I tried to install Wordnet (using 3.03) dictionary in January.
The problem is that after I press translate the phone would beep announcing it has finish translating but it displays blank (below word that is needed to translated).  Sometime it work OK the first time I installed but after that the problem happen again.

In any case, this is a very useful information that you provided !

Here is my old report.  Ver 2.x does not have any problem with my SE phone at all, so you may need to see what has changed with 3.x that cause the problem.  I have installed the newest Java Platform 7.3 with R1JG001 firmware released last week and still have same problem with 3.03.

Hi Gert!

In which version and when occured the first errors with SE? What where these first errors?
Starting with which version did you implement the SE workaround?

Greetings,
Sebastian

Gert

I guess all versions of DictionaryForMIDs did have that problem with the SonyEricsson cell phones ! I am not sure on which version I did receive the first email that told me that on SonyEricsson cell phones there is an OutOfMemoryError (2.0 was the first public version; I believe latest on 2.3 I received emails from people who told me about the SE problems; probably the problem was there before also).

According to the version history log the SE-Workaround was introduced with version 2.4.2.

The error that I was told was always the same: OutOfMemoryError !

Not on all SE phones, though. For example I received an email from a K7xx owner who told me that DictionaryForMIDs worked fine on his phone (on a DfM version that did not yet have the workaround).

Thanks both of you for your support on this topic !
Gert

I never got Out of Memory error.  Seems that it happen on lower end/older SE.  I will try lower than 2.42 to see if the out of memory error occurs in my K800.

Gert

Well, yes, with that workaround it seemed that the OutOfMemoryError did not occur any more.

You can browse the old versions at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=137316

Hello hanugro,

I heard about problem you have from my friend.

He has SE k610i phone and after installing DfM 3.0.2 he always got blank lines instead of translations

...but few minutes after that he posted message to me, that he solved that with turning off 'Coloured Display'
in options ... try it ...
(the same version of DfM works good even with 'Coloured Display' turned on on my SE D750i with fw w800i )
